Topics

Back

What Topics can LTI programs address?

Our services span a broad spectrum of topics that relate to leadership and management issues (see programs). Depending on the desired outcome of the program, we can take either a very broad or a very specific approach. Our basic outdoor team building for example, will open the doors to a wide spectrum of issues enabling the team to decide which road to take. We can also address very specific issues, either indoors or outdoors, such as handling conflict when doing performance reviews.

Price

Back

How are LTI programs priced?

Because every LTI program is custom designed, pricing is done on a case-by-case basis. Our pricing is based on the number of consultants needed, length of program, location, and type of preparation required. Once you and your LTI sales consultant decide on what training will address your needs, they will prepare a proposal which outlines the program and the specific pricing.

Needs

Back

What if I don't know exactly what my team needs are?

You are in the same boat as many other people. One of the key benefits of working with LTI is the resource you gain through our sales staff. Because we focus on long term relationships, our sales consultants are focused on helping you reach your business goals rather than simply selling programs. They will help you explore your current situation and determine what, if any training is needed. Often, they will help conduct preliminary needs assessments, surveys, or focus groups to further hone in on your exact needs. Bottom line, your LTI sales consultant is a valuable resource for your business.

Training

Back

What if our company already has a training department in place?

We strive to coordinate our services with existing or other available resources. Since our goal is to impact your business, it is critical that what we do is both consistent with your culture and reinforced by other aspects of your work. We often develop programs cooperatively with in-house trainers, provide train-the-trainer programs, or co-facilitate the actual delivery.

Where

Back

Where are LTI programs conducted?

We bring our training to you. Providing that the facilities will support the physical demands of the program, we can use whatever location your choose: your companys office space or property, conference facilities, hotels, resorts, parks, or other locations. Your sales consultant can discuss with you the specific space requirements for each program.

Size

Back

What size of groups can LTI accommodate?

Because we focus on impact at the individual and team level, we prefer to keep functional groups between 12 and 20 (depending on the type of interaction desired). When doing large groups of 100 or more, we simply divide the group into small teams where an individual facilitator can have greater impact.

Individual

Back

Can I sign up for a class as an individual?

Sorry, but we typically do not offer open enrollment. We believe that we dramatically increase the impact of our programs on your business by working with intact teams. Rather than having one individual trying to achieve something different, you have an entire group pursuing a common goal.

Physical aspects

Back

I'm concerned about the physical aspects of outdoor team building.

First, we deal exclusively with business professionals. All of our programs are designed for adults of average health, not youth or military groups. Second, and most importantly, we abide by the philosophy of Challenge By Choice. This basically means that each individual is free to participate however they see fit. At no time will anyone be forced or coerced to participate against their will.

What's different

Back

I've been through team building before, what's different here?

There are several key components that set LTI's team building programs apart from others. First, we spend considerable time trying to fit what we do to your corporate culture. This consistency and awareness is critical for gaining buy-in and developing business analogies. Second, we focus on business issues that are real to your environment. Our discussions are not based on irrelevant feel good ideas. And third, we drive the team toward closure and action. When groups leave our programs, they have a solid concept of what is next.

Prepare

Back

How do I prepare for a program?

Prior to every program, each participant will receive a packet which contains detailed information on what to bring, times, locations, and emergency contact phone numbers. If you have not received this information, please call our program Coordinator at (919) 783-6900. For most programs, all you need to do is dress appropriately for the weather, and come with an open and positive attitude ready to participate.

After a Program

Back

What can I expect after a program?

The effects of ANY training program will be short lived unless the ideas and concepts are reinforced. Your program director and sales consultant will complete an Executive Report which will summarize progress made during the program and suggestions for how this progress can be continued. On many programs, you will also receive photos, video, flip chart summaries, or other supporting material that will help you follow-up internally. We cannot stress enough the need to constantly reinforce positive behavior, whether it is associated with our programs or not. Reinforcement and consistency are your most powerful tools for lasting change.
